How to watch NYFW shows for free

In a new partnership with Rockefeller Center, for the first time CFDA will stream presentations of collections for public viewing. From Sept. 6 through Sept. 11, a combination of livestreams and recorded runway shows will be shown on a screen at Rockefeller Center's rink. The screenings are free to attend.

Here are some tips for attending New York Fashion Week:

  • Plan your outfits: It's important to have your outfits prepared in advance so you can focus on the details and avoid last-minute stress.
  • Dress comfortably: Fashion shows can be long, so it's important to wear an outfit that's both stylish and comfortable.
  • Have a wardrobe of basics: Consider having a wardrobe of closet basics that you can wear throughout the week. You can also bring lightweight outerwear to keep warm in air-conditioned spaces.

  • Be on time: It's important to be on time and not steal seats or cut in line.

  • Be patient: It can be difficult to stay even-tempered when attending multiple shows in a day.
  • Plan your itinerary: Plan out where you want to go each day and schedule hourly time slots.
  • Consider traffic: Traffic in New York City is already bad, and it's even worse during Fashion Week.
  • Reach out to brands early: If you're a blogger, you should start reaching out to brands 4–6 weeks before the shows.
  • Develop a media kit: A media kit can help brands understand you and your audience.
  • Watch the live stream: If you can't get a ticket to a runway show, you can watch the live stream.
